Thoughts on the WATCH

First off, terrible name. But that’s besides the point.

In 2007, the iPhone came along out of nowhere and completely changed what smartphones did. It was a paradigm shift that catapulted the industry forward.

The WATCH isn’t that. It’s pretty jewelry with a neat communication feature. It’s not something I see changing much, simply because it’s designed for the fashion industry.

The hive-like UI is neat, but I’m not sure it’ll be great IRL. The communication system of drawing looks cool, but it’ll be used exclusively by the wealthy – those who have plenty of money to waste. That platform doesn’t appear to crossover to other Apple devices.

I’m not excited about the WATCH, but hopefully Apple will change that.
